Wild Spirit is a registered school of Yoga thru Yoga Alliance. We offer both 200 + Advanced 300 hour training programs. Our school integrates the 8 limbs of yoga as well as yogic philosophy to explore this rich tradition thru your own lens.
Next Training Starts June 2, 2022
Wild Spirit School of Yoga is excited to announce we will be kicking off a new 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training this June 2022!
We have redesigned our program to reflect the power, passion and drive that teaching yoga requires. The power lies in finding your voice as a teacher. We all have a unique point of view and experience of yoga. Our purpose is in helping you to discover what you love about the practice and how it has impacted you, so that you may share these tools from a voice of experience.
The passion for yoga is the full experience. We will dive deep into not only the postures and asanas of yoga, but the approach is much more holistic. We will talk philosophy, learn from the sutras and traditions of the practice. Why we do what we do in yoga, what is it all for? We will learn meditation techniques and practice, we will experience breath and pranayama from the yogic lens, we will walk thru Ayurveda and the benefits of understanding this ancient science and its impacts on our practice.
The drive is the decision to show up for something you care about. 200 hours is a commitment of time, that in itself can teach us the gifts of persistence and commitment. We will be working with the tools of yoga. You will be not only a student of these tools, but you will be applying them to your practice which will challenge you, transform you, and expand you. That being said, we are all adults. We all get to make the choice in how we show up as a student. You will have the opportunity to make these choices throughout our time together and beyond!
This training will be a hybrid training, doing in person sessions as well as some content on line.
Primarily led by Jennifer Carmack, ERY-500 and Emily Williams, ERY-500. We will be hosting guest teachers as well, from a variety of backgrounds and specialities, to bring their wisdom and experience to you.
Mary Opperman, The Studies of Sanskrit and Pranayama
Stacey Ramsower, Tantra + Somatic Experiencing.
Wes Wesolick, The Chakra Guru
Jean Dixon, LPC-S, CGP, Yoga +Trauma Therapist.
Emily's journey with yoga began to blossom in 2006. I was guided to yoga by a hope to deepen my spiritual journey, find peace and happiness and connect the energies of mind, body and spirit; initially, I fell in love with the principles and sequence of the Ashtanga practice.
As I have continued to grow and vary my practice, so has my understanding of yoga and how it integrates into whole-living.I have evolved into and out of the rigidity of the Ashtanga structure, and am forever grateful for the lessons it taught me in my body, about my mind, and how it has allowed me to connect with the Something More.
In 2012 I received my 200 hour RYT from Sara Turk, focusing on Ashtanga-Vinyasa (flow) style yoga, as well as anatomy, physiology and the energetics of yoga. I continued my teacher-training journey with Sara and completed my 500 hour advanced training in 2015. Since this time, I have practiced under many teachers, on my own, and with some amazing students who have taught me so much.
Beginning to truly understand the link between subtle energy and well-being, I received my Reiki Master Practitioner training under the guidance of Jennifer Carmack, and I continue to learn and grow under her patient, partnering friendship. Furthering our journey together, I jumped in with both feet, pursuing my passion full-time at Wild Spirit Yoga.
My greatest hope is to empower myself and my students to embrace our individual strengths and realize our unique visions, thus living the life we were meant to live here on this earth; with purpose and vision in service of the greater good. I have become immersed in the ceremony of life, the sacred union of being human on this planet. I believe life should be celebrated, every day, in everything... and am dedicated to continue this work. The growth is in the work, and we achieve this through accountability and support… we are meant to connect, contribute and bring value to others along the way. I am learning new ways to uncover patterns and false identifications in my own life and hope to continue to partner with others to do the same.
This will be Jennifer’s 8th 200 hour training she has led for Wild Spirit School of Yoga. She was trained at the Shoshoni Ashram in Nederland, Colorado with the Shambhava School of Yoga. A traditional yoga training focused on understand the full spectrum of yoga philosophy. Jennifer is doing her 300 hour advanced training with Christina Sell. She has been teaching yoga full time since 2008.
Jennifer’s draws on the practice and alignment of Hatha yoga and the Iyengar lineages. How do we create the balance between effort and receiving? Where is the sweet spot when the pose opens up the lines of energy in the body that offers us perspective and growth? Hatha yoga means sun and moon. It is a study of the dual nature of ourselves and of life. My hope is to offer my students the full experience of what yoga can be. The physical aspects of the practice are just as important. Yoga theory tells us that asana practice is how we access “the oneness” in our body. As we begin this embodiment practice, we can use the somatic tools to understand the nervous system, and uncover the relationships between the body and the patterns of trauma and energy we all carry.
As we practice the activation of asana, there is more to experience with each pose. Acknowledgement of what IS, and resting in that moment as a full experience. Then to ride the backside of that activation wave. tuning into the receptive spaces, as ease in our breath, softening of our demeanor to allow for reverence, the samadhi and gratitude. This is the offering of our yoga experience so we may be truly able to integrate yoga into our lives, on our mats and within ourselves, that is what begins to transform us.
I truly believe that every thing in life is a direct reflection of ourselves and where we are in the process and in our perspectives. Everything is an opportunity to yoga…to step into the wider view of ourselves, while taking our place in our lives, is empowering and offers us grace. We do this work together so we may learn for ourselves and reveal the truth of our practice and process is what we offer others as we teach.
200 hours is a beginner teacher training program. It is where students that would like to explore teaching starts. We recommend students that have practiced yoga consistently for at least a year before starting a training program.
Teacher training not only prepares you to teach classes but also gives you a direct experience to committing to a yoga practice as well as learning the deeper philosophy and applying it to your practice.
Our program covers in depth the postures of yoga, alignment and energetics. As well as breath and pranayama, meditation, chakras and energetic systems of the body.
You will be trained to teach these practices.
Learning how to hold space for your students, allowing for everyones full experiences in yoga is a very important skill. Responding to their body and energy in real time and using your intuition to guide your class makes for an impactful experience in your classes.
How do you hold space? How do you know when to say what? What is too much, what is enough? Well if we're leading our students back to themselves, then we must be leading the charge. We must be in our own bodies, feeling and present with what is and letting that space guide every word and action.
Practice, practice, practice! Meet yourself on your yoga mat. Dig in and attend as many yoga classes as you can. Stay open and ask questions as they arise. Transformation and change are an essential part of the training. The more experience you have had as a student will only inform what your message will be as a teacher.
If you haven’t practiced much with Jennifer or Emily, start coming to class in person or online. Make sure our style and approach is something you are interested in learning.
